I'm looking for an experienced Governance & Compliance specialist who enjoys working with senior stakeholders, influencing strategic decision-making & leading governance and compliance initiatives.
The Role:
- Provide expert governance, regulatory and procedural advice to senior leaders and committees
- Lead the effective operation of governance committees
- Support the development and continuous improvement of governance frameworks and decision-making processes
- Interpret regulatory requirements and advise on organisational implications
- Lead data protection compliance activities, including oversight of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), Records of Processing Activities (ROPA), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and breach reporting
- Oversee corporate policy management and statutory registers
- Monitor organisational compliance calendars and regulatory submissions
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to embed governance and compliance best practice
Essentials:
- Significant experience in a senior governance, compliance or corporate governance role
- Experience working within higher education or another regulated sector
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, information governance and data protection legislation
- A sound understanding of regulatory frameworks and organisational governance
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
