Our client is a highly regarded international investment platform managing capital across complementary investment strategies including Private Equity & Venture Capital. The Group Finance function sits at the centre of the platform, supporting the management company, listed structures and fund entities. The finance team has recently undergone a significant Target Operating Model transformation, creating dedicated pillars across Corporate Accounting, Fund Accounting, Group FP&A, Fund FP&A, Financial Compliance and Financial AI & Data.

The Head of FP&A is a newly created position within the transformed Finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. The role is a FP&A leadership position within the function and carries accountability for the Group’s and Funds’ financial planning, analysis and performance reporting across all investment strategies. The successful candidate will lead a team of 3–4 FP&A professionals and work closely with finance, investment and portfolio value creation teams. This is a high-profile, hands-on leadership role with significant exposure to the CFO and Executive Committee. The successful individual will act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing analytically rigorous and commercially grounded insight to support strategic planning, investor communications and capital allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Group FP&A
    • Lead the Group’s consolidated forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning processes across all strategies and legal entities.
    • Prepare and own Group forecasts, including liquidity analysis, cost optimisation initiatives, earnings quality analysis and strategy profitability reporting.
    • Produce board-level and investor-facing performance packs, including commentary and financial narrative.
    • Prepare holding-level valuation packs including KPI analysis, methodology review, cross-checks and audit support alongside investment teams.
    • Provide analytical support for dividends, share buybacks and equity issuances.
    • Support financial modelling relating to debt facilities, including covenant monitoring, draw-down scenarios and refinancing analysis.
    • Provide analytical support for venture/growth investments including portfolio KPI reporting, runway analysis and performance benchmarking.
  • Fund FP&A
    • Own the end-to-end fund FP&A cycle across Private Equity funds.
    • Support capital call and distribution planning processes, coordinating with fund administration teams and reviewing investor commitments against fund documentation.
    • Calculate and validate management fees across multiple fund vintages.
    • Monitor and report fund operating costs, including budget tracking and variance analysis.
    • Conduct ongoing monitoring of fund documentation, side letter obligations and distribution waterfalls.
    • Prepare fund-level valuation packs in coordination with investment teams.
    • Support fund facility modelling, covenant analysis and refinancing scenarios.
    • Provide portfolio company FP&A support including KPI analysis, forecasting and benchmarking exercises.
  • Strategic Projects & Investor Communication
    • Lead or support ad hoc strategic finance projects at the direction of the CFO and Executive Committee, including financial modelling and capital markets analysis.
    • Support investor communications and preparation of investor presentations.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead the FP&A team, including day-to-day management, development and mentoring.
    • Act as a key FP&A business partner to the CFO, Executive Committee, finance and investment teams.
    • Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting and planning capabilities.
  • AI, Data & Systems
    • Maintain and develop AI-enhanced forecasting, reporting and valuation tools.
    • Support wider finance transformation initiatives focused on AI usage, automation and reporting enhancement.
