12 Month Fixed Term Contract (chance to go permanent)
Hybrid 2 days per week in the office
Leeds City Centre
JSS is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join their investment management client in Leeds on a 12 month fixed term contract, with strong potential to become permanent.
This is a senior, high-visibility role. You'll partner closely with senior leaders, including Executive Directors, translating business plans into meaningful financial outcomes and providing insight that genuinely influences decision-making. Acting as a trusted advisor across the organisation, you'll lead financial planning and analysis, challenge thinking, and help shape strategy, while bringing rigour and structure to complex financial and commercial issues.
This role is suited to someone who is confident operating at pace, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and who brings a strong technical grounding along with commercial and transactional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Business partner with Executive Directors and senior leaders, translating business plans and strategic priorities into clear financial outcomes
- Take a lead role in supporting major strategic programmes and change initiatives, providing financial rigour, robust business cases, and ongoing tracking of costs and benefits
- Own the FP&A cycle for your area, including multi-year forecasting, budgeting, and monthly management reporting
- Provide financial insight and analysis that shapes strategic decision-making, proactively identifying risks and opportunities rather than simply reporting on performance
- Act as a trusted advisor to programme and project leads, embedding financial discipline into planning, delivery and benefits realisation
- Support transaction and investment activity where relevant, bringing structure and financial due diligence to significant commercial decisions
- Build and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning, investment appraisal and business case development
- Challenge and influence senior stakeholders, holding them to account on financial performance and commercial decision-making
- Identify and drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems and reporting
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant, ideally with Big Four experience that has moved into FP&A, including forecasting, budgeting and business partnering at a senior level
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence and credibility to influence and challenge senior and Executive stakeholders
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to translate financial analysis into clear, forward-looking insight
- Comfortable working with financial models, budgeting systems and reporting tools
- Prior transaction services or advisory background (Big 4 or similar)
- Continuous improvement mindset, with experience enhancing financial processes
- Transaction services experience, with M&A exposure strongly preferable
