The Opportunity
Our client is a scaling UK challenger bank that is continuing to expand its product offering, customer base and market presence.
As part of its ongoing growth journey, the business is seeking to appoint its first dedicated tax professional to establish and lead the tax function.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic financial services business in a newly created role with broad exposure across the organisation.
The successful candidate will take ownership of all tax matters affecting the bank and will play a key role in developing the tax strategy, governance framework and operating model as the business evolves.
The role offers significant scope to influence decision-making, support strategic initiatives and build capability over time, with the opportunity to shape the future direction of the tax function.
Candidate Profile
We are interested in speaking with experienced tax professionals who combine strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, commercial approach.
- Key Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, CA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant UK tax experience, preferably gained from working in-house.
- Ability to operate effectively in a standalone role with broad responsibility.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk management and business objectives.
- Prior experience managing relationships with HMRC and external advisers.
- Experience within banking, fintech, consumer lending or payments.
- Experience establishing processes, controls or a tax function from the ground up.
