JSS Tax are hiring for a Group VAT Manager for a leading leisure company based near to Berkhamsted (supporting 2 or 3 days per week remote working). This is a newly-created permanent full-time role paying circa £65k-£80k plus 20% bonus and a great benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Review the quarterly VAT return
- Advise the business and lead on all VAT matters such as PESM and residual VAT provisioning
- Own and develop the VAT process notes
- Own the Tour Operator Margin Scheme (‘TOMS’) Reporting
- Monthly review of all VAT related balance sheet accounts
- Liaison with external auditors on all VAT related balances at the audit planning stage and at year end
- Review and cascade the reporting of VAT to management with clear explanations of movements
- Build strong relationships with HMRC and other advisors to maintain accurate and robust reporting and to also answer ad-hoc queries
- Ensure the business maintains high level of understanding on key VAT matters
- Assist with other ad hoc tax matters as required i.e. corporation tax computations, PSA calculations, Non-resident landlord filings and payments, machine games duty quarterly returns, R&D claims etc.
