JSS are delighted to be supporting our client on the recruitment of a fantastic Chief Financial Officer role. This CFO position is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for leading the financial strategy and performance of a multi-site business. Acting as a close strategic partner to the CEO, the CFO will provide commercial insight, robust financial governance, and disciplined capital management to support sustainable growth and operational excellence. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership of finance, driving improved processes, controls, and systems, while managing strong, trusted relationships with banks, funders, and other financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor and business partner to the CEO and Board
- Contribute to overall business strategy, growth plans, and investment decisions
- Provide financial insight and challenge to support commercial, operational, and strategic initiatives
- Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting across multiple sites
- Ensure accurate, timely, and insightful management accounts and board reporting
- Monitor and improve site-level profitability, margins, and cost control
Process Improvement & Systems
- Review, design, and implement robust financial processes, controls, and governance frameworks
- Drive continuous improvement in finance operations, systems, and reporting
Treasury, Cash Flow & Lender Relationships
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity across the business
- Lead relationships with banks, funders, and other finance providers
- Negotiate and manage debt facilities, covenants, and funding agreements
- Ensure compliance with all lender reporting and covenant requirements
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Lead audit processes and relationships with external auditors and advisors
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team
- Foster a collaborative, commercially focused finance function that supports site operations
Profile
- Proven experience as a FD or CFO or senior finance leader in a multi-site, consumer-facing, or leisure/hospitality environment
- Strong track record of partnering closely with a CEO and leadership team
- Demonstrated experience managing lender and banking relationships
- Deep understanding of financial controls, reporting, and cash flow management
- Experience driving process improvement and finance transformation
- Knowledge of leisure, hospitality, retail, or similar operationally complex sectors
