The Investment Analyst will work alongside the Head of Investments to support the effective oversight and ongoing management of the investment portfolio. The role includes monitoring portfolio performance, risk measures and exposures, providing clear analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
You will support reviews of portfolio positioning against strategic asset allocation and investment limits. You will assist with external investment oversight, including preparing materials for review meetings. This includes reviewing performance data, risk information and ESG disclosures, as well as supporting research into managers, funds and asset classes within approved parameters.
The position also supports the preparation of investment papers, briefing notes and analysis for the Head of Investments, CFIO and Investment Committee. You will contribute to asset allocation reviews, modelling and comparative analysis, and support the ongoing development of investment policies, guidelines and governance documentation.
Strong communication is key, with responsibility for producing concise reporting for senior management, committees and the Board, and working closely with finance and risk teams to ensure investment insights are embedded across the wider business.
Experience & Capability
- Experience in investment analysis, insurance investments, asset management or a related financial field
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear, practical insights
- Experience monitoring portfolio performance, risk metrics and exposures
- Exposure to working with external investment managers and/or multi-asset portfolios
- Comfortable working with analytical tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, Clearwater or similar systems
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams independently within a small team environment
Personal Profile & Requirements
- Studying towards, or willing to study towards, a professional qualification such as CFA, IMC or similar
- Experience gained within an insurance or regulated investment environment is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a structured and organised approach to work
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders
- Aware of ESG and sustainability considerations within investment decision-making
