Role Responsibilities
- The new Capital Markets Associate will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to credit analysis, financial statement/model review, scenario modelling, deal execution, portfolio monitoring, and certain sourcing activities.
- Underwrite investment opportunities utilising collateral-specific credit analyses.
- Review diligence materials with a focus on evaluating and manipulating loan tapes to perform credit analysis.
- Exhibit subject matter expertise across financial statement analysis and fixed-income transaction mechanics.
- Work fluently with large and diverse datasets.
- Prepare investment memos with strong attention to detail.
- Participate in and support various aspects of the deal execution process.
- Monitor portfolio companies to ensure accurate reporting and generate performance reviews.
- Aid in deal sourcing by identifying emerging companies and organising initial meetings.
- Develop various pieces of marketing content to build the firm's brand.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject.
- ~2+ years of experience across private credit investing, investment banking, debt capital markets / leveraged finance, structured / asset-based finance, restructuring.
- Strong knowledge of credit underwriting and accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and manage priorities against key deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently while also contributing in a team-oriented environment.
