An exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a fast-growing, private equity-backed group operating across the UK & Ireland. With ambitious growth plans—both organic and through acquisition—this is a pivotal role at the start of a new phase of expansion. Working within a high-performing Telecoms finance team, you’ll report into the Head of Financial Control and take ownership of core entities, focusing on balance sheet integrity, financial control, and robust reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close and entity reporting, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Own balance sheet control, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations across all entities
- Oversee intercompany processes, ensuring balances are reconciled and agreed monthly
- Manage annual statutory audits, including liaison with auditors and resolution of technical queries
- Drive continuous improvement across financial controls, processes, and reporting
- Review and approve journals and support shared service centre activities
- Partner with operational teams to provide insight, analysis, and decision support
- Support and develop a team of Management Accountants
- Utilise financial systems (Oracle/Power BI) to enhance reporting and insight
- Contribute to process excellence initiatives and finance transformation projects
- Support integration activity arising from acquisitions
About You
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or audit background within a complex/group environment
- Strong balance sheet and financial control expertise
- Experience managing audits and dealing with technical accounting queries
- Confident leader with experience coaching and developing junior staff
- Strong systems knowledge (e.g. Oracle/SmartView) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in a matrix organisation
