An established and growing regulated financial services organisation is seeking a part-qualified finance professional to join its Financial Reporting team. The role offers broad exposure to statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, tax compliance, audit, and technical accounting within a highly regulated environment.

This position would suit an ACCA or ACA studier looking to develop a career in financial reporting and technical accounting while gaining exposure to governance, regulatory requirements, and business-wide finance projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ad hoc internal reporting and external reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation and timely filing of statutory accounts for multiple group entities, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assist with external audit processes, responding to audit requests and providing supporting information.
  • Prepare corporation tax information for external tax advisers.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Support the production of monthly and quarterly regulatory reporting.
  • Keep up to date with IFRS, regulatory developments, and legislative changes, assisting with their implementation where required.
  • Assist with entity closures and restructurings, including preparation of final accounts and tax filings, while coordinating with external stakeholders.
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting and analytical projects as required by senior management.
  • Support wider finance and business projects requiring finance input.
  • Assist with internal and external stakeholder requests.
  • Develop technical accounting knowledge, including contributing to technical accounting papers and research.

Governance & Controls:

  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of the finance control framework.
  • Assist in implementing and improving controls in response to audit findings, regulatory changes, and business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with internal finance policies and governance procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Studying towards ACCA or ACA qualification.
  • Minimum of 1 year's finance experience.
  • Good understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Exposure to VAT and corporation tax processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently following appropriate training.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
  • Positive and collaborative team player.
