This is a pivotal position within a fast-scaling, international business, operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
As Head of Finance, you will sit between the CFO and the finance team, with full ownership of the quality, accuracy and integrity of all financial output. You will lead the function while remaining close to the detail—ensuring strong controls, efficient processes, and scalable systems are in place to support continued growth. This is a hands-on leadership role, suited to an experienced operator who can run a finance function, own the numbers, and drive continuous improvement through systems and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team
- Lead and develop the Group Financial Accountant and wider finance team
- Own the quality and integrity of all finance output
- Set high standards for technical accuracy, process discipline and delivery
- Close, Consolidation & Reporting
- Own the group close process, including journals, reconciliations and adjustments
- Lead multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation (including intercompany eliminations and FX translation)
- Sign off management accounts and reporting delivered to Board and investors
- Technical Accounting, Audit & Tax
- Act as the key technical authority across complex accounting areas (UK GAAP & US GAAP)
- Own statutory reporting and manage audits through to completion
- Oversee tax compliance via external advisors and approve all filings
- Controls & Systems
- Own and enhance the internal control framework
- Lead ERP and financial systems governance (including workflows, integrations and data quality)
- Ensure finance processes are well-designed, documented, controlled and scalable
- Drive process improvements and automation to reduce manual effort
- Support international expansion with a robust and scalable finance infrastructure
Requirements
- ACA / CIMA qualified with 4+ years’ PQE in industry (essential)
- Proven ownership of group consolidation in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment (non-negotiable)
- Strong experience across UK and US (UK GAAP, US GAAP, US sales tax)
- Experience in a high-volume or deferred revenue environment (desirable)
- ERP experience (Sage Intacct preferred, or equivalent mid-market systems)
- Experience managing auditors, tax advisors, and qualified finance professionals
- Demonstrated success improving finance processes within a growing business
