We’re partnering with a well-established transport organisation to recruit a commercially minded Finance Business Partner. This is a high-impact role where you’ll act as the key link between finance and the wider business—turning data into insight and driving operational performance.

The Role

You’ll work closely with budget holders, project managers and senior stakeholders to deliver robust financial insight, challenge decisions and support strategic planning. This is a visible role with strong influence across both operational and project environments (capex and opex).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver monthly reporting packs with clear, actionable insights
  • Partner with stakeholders to review performance, challenge assumptions and drive improvements
  • Lead budgeting and rolling forecasting processes, ensuring robust assumptions and accuracy
  • Provide financial support and oversight across project spend (capex & opex)
  • Analyse cost trends, highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Support cost control initiatives and deliver against budget targets
  • Maintain accurate financial structures (cost centres, project codes, etc.)
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure robust financial controls
  • Produce regular reporting on key cost areas and business drivers

About You

  • Part-qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ management accounting experience
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling capability
  • Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Analytical, detail-driven and commercially aware
  • Experience of ERP systems (Business Central/Navision desirable)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
