We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support a major Finastra Equation platform upgrade. The successful candidate will bring deep subject matter expertise in Equation and play a key role in ensuring business needs are clearly understood and translated into effective technical solutions.
You will be involved across the full change lifecycle, from early scoping and planning through requirements analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation, working closely with both business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and manage key stakeholders to ensure their needs are understood and expectations appropriately managed.
- Foster effective collaboration and communication between business and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure early engagement of specialist stakeholders such as Service Delivery, Information Security, and Data SMEs.
- Plan and estimate business analysis activities to support project planning.
- Facilitate the definition, agreement, and ongoing management of a realistic scope of requirements.
- Conduct thorough impact assessments across people, processes, organisation, and technology.
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements to a sufficient level of detail for development.
- Produce high-quality business analysis artefacts including: business, functional, technical, and non-functional requirements; business process and data models; use cases, use case models, and context diagrams; business activity models.
- Ensure requirements are validated, verified, and approved in line with agreed methodologies.
- Align business requirements with technical solutions to ensure system changes are clearly understood.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements using user stories and acceptance criteria, capturing both standard and exception scenarios.
- Support testing and implementation phases to ensure delivered solutions meet agreed requirements.
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with Finastra Equation (ideally including modules such as Marketable Securities).
- Proven experience delivering Equation upgrades.
- Strong background in Business Analysis within fast-paced change or transformation environments.
- Solid understanding of SDLC and project delivery lifecycles.
- Experience producing BA artefacts such as user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and models.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at all levels of seniority.
- Excellent customer-focused mindset with a strong emphasis on delivering positive customer outcomes.
- Experience working with and analysing data.
- Workshop facilitation experience.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Previous experience working with Finastra or other Finastra products.
- Professional certification in Business Analysis.
