Candidate Manager – JSS – Recruiting Finance Professionals in London and the Home Counties
We’re currently partnering with a high-performing FMCG business based in Milton Keynes to recruit a Tax Manager to join their well-established finance function.
This is a broad and hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of all UK tax obligations, including VAT, Corporation Tax, Digital Services Tax, and other applicable taxes. Reporting directly to the Tax Director, you’ll act as the go-to subject matter expert on tax for both internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll also play a key role in shaping and strengthening tax compliance controls and processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across the UK business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of all UK tax returns (VAT, Corporation Tax, Digital Services Tax, etc.)
- Provide accurate cash forecasts for tax payments
- Ensure compliance with Office for National Statistics returns
- Oversee tax computations within statutory accounts
- Liaise with internal/external auditors and manage VAT audits
- Support the delivery of accurate tax-related balance sheet reconciliations
- Deliver tax data and insights to the board and senior leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor for internal/external tax queries
- Lead on tax elements of M&A activity
- Identify and implement process improvements across tax reporting
- Stay current on tax legislation, translating impacts to business leaders through training and insights
- Support tax planning initiatives and contribute to finance control reviews
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified CTA, ACA, or ACCA accountant
- Proven experience in a similar Tax Manager or senior tax role
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent Excel skills and systems knowledge
- Experience working within or with auditors is advantageous
- A naturally inquisitive mindset – keen to challenge, improve and add value
