Portfolio Analyst - Private Equity

JSS Financial Services are partnered with a leading mid-market private equity firm on the search for a Portfolio Analyst.

Role Highlights:

Portfolio Reporting:

• Work in a close team to gather portfolio company financial data, reach out to key stakeholders (e.g Deal teams, portfolio company finance teams), understand the main performance drivers and ensure high quality reporting.
• Prepare monthly portfolio performance reporting packs for senior leadership.
• Utilise our portfolio reporting systems and tools to identify data gaps, work with the relevant teams to ensure this are remedied in a timely manner.
• Prepare quarterly investor reporting and associated outputs after quarterly valuations are signed off.
• Answer investor and Investor relations queries in relation to portfolio company financial data.
• Contribute towards improving supporting files and workflows.
• Assist the team with any ad-hoc requests as required to ensure smooth functioning of the team’s tasks which often involves collaboration with other teams

Valuations:

• Assist with the quarterly valuations process, gathering the necessary data, understand the main drivers of performance and corroborating support for the portfolio companies
• Prepare trading and transaction comparable multiples for portfolio companies.
• Take minutes during the Quarterly Valuations Committee.
• Managing and liaising with auditors during annual audit of valuations.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong academics and degree qualified
• Background in either valuations or financial analysis (e.g. corporate finance, transaction services, FP&A).
• Ideally completed, or studying towards, a professional qualification (e.g. ACA, CFA).
• Interested in Private Equity, Valuation, Market analysis, and current affairs.
• Confident in communication, with credibility around senior people
• A proactive and hardworking approach, able to cope with very busy periods at certain times of the financial year.
