A rapidly growing private markets investment manager is seeking a senior finance leader to build and run its Fund Finance & Operations function. This role is a key partner to the CFO and Investment team, with end-to-end responsibility for fund finance, operational infrastructure and governance across a complex, multi-jurisdictional platform. The successful candidate will combine deep technical fund expertise with a hands-on, commercial mindset, enabling efficient deal execution, best-in-class investor reporting and scalable processes to support continued rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities- Fund Finance & Control
- Lead finance and operations across multiple active fund vintages from first close through realisation and wind-down.
- Oversee fund structuring, financial reporting, tax compliance and lifecycle planning.
- Manage complex cross-border fund and SPV structures (e.g. Luxembourg, Cayman, UK) working closely with external administrators, auditors, tax advisers and legal counsel.
- Own and continuously enhance the third-party administrator framework and outputs.
- Treasury & Fund-Level Leverage
- Structure, negotiate and manage subscription line and NAV financing facilities, including large syndicated facilities.
- Optimise liquidity and LTV to minimise capital calls and enable seamless deal settlement.
- Oversee cash management, FX and treasury across funds and structures.
- Process, Controls & Automation
- Design and embed scalable, well-controlled finance and operational processes as AUM and transaction volumes grow.
- Drive automation of cashflow tracking and investor return reporting to materially shorten reporting timelines.
- Strengthen governance, documentation and control frameworks across the function.
- Investment & Deal Support
- Act as primary finance partner to the deal team on transactions and funding.
- Deliver fund modelling, dry powder analysis and scenario planning.
- Lead finance workstreams on deal closings, capital movements and settlements.
- Lead finance input into LP due diligence and fundraising.
- Own financial DDQ content, data rooms and ongoing investor reporting.
- Design and run efficient LP closing and capital activity processes to reduce execution risk and management burden.
- Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing finance and operations team in line with platform growth.
- Manage key external relationships with administrators, banks, FX providers and advisers to drive accountability and service quality.
- Act as the central finance contact for auditors and other external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in private markets fund finance (private equity, private credit or similar), ideally within a fast-growing investment manager.
- Strong track record managing multi-jurisdictional fund structures and institutional investor reporting.
- Deep technical knowledge of fund accounting, reporting, tax and treasury.
- Direct experience structuring and managing subscription/NAV facilities with relationship banks.
- Demonstrated ability to implement scalable processes and data/technology-driven automation.
- Experience supporting fundraising processes and LP due diligence.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented.
- Strong communicator able to partner closely with investment professionals.
- High ownership mindset with attention to detail and control.
- Proven people leader and team developer.
