Location: London Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 from home)
We are seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to serve as a primary contact for all compliance matters within our UK Business. You will provide expert advice and guidance while supporting the Chief Compliance Officer with Group reporting and participation in industry committees.
Principal Accountabilities
- Framework & Controls: Strengthen and document the internal control framework from a compliance risk perspective and conduct regular testing on key controls.
- Conduct Risk: Act as a focal point for Conduct Risk activities, including Consumer Duty and Product Oversight and Governance regulations.
- SMCR Compliance: HR with Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) requirements, including notifications to the PRA and FCA and maintaining responsibility maps.
- Regulatory Reporting: Manage the compliance calendar to ensure all PRA and FCA returns (e.g., complaints, fees) and Group reporting are completed on time.
- Horizon Scanning: Undertake regulatory horizon scanning and report on legislative changes that impact the local business.
- Policy Management: Assist with transposing Group policies into local Second Line of Defence (2LOD) procedures.
- Culture & Training: Liaise with HR to deliver face-to-face compliance training and coordinate with Group Ethics on initiatives to enhance the internal compliance culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of compliance experience is required, principally within the insurance sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of FCA requirements, particularly those relating to Conduct Risk.
- Education: Educated to degree level (2:1 required).
- Qualifications: Professional compliance qualifications are desirable, though a strong willingness to study for them is essential.
- Attributes: A collaborative team player who is dependable, shows initiative, and is committed to continuous self-development.
