JSS Financial Services are exclusively partnered with a lean, scale up Hedge Fund that are looking to make their first official hire in Finance. This is a firm set up some of the industries best, so you will benefit from being in an entrepreneurial environment where you can make your own stamp, but with credible leadership. The ideal candidate is an ACA qualified accountant, ideally who has had exposure to both corporate and fund accounting (or corporate accounting within a fund). Responsibilities: LLP – Keeping the accounts of the management company preparing monthly reports and quarterly management accounts Budgeting costs and monitoring against actual. Reporting variances to the management board Monitoring LLP cashflow including bank reconciliations Preparing year-end accounts and liaising with auditors Preparing VAT returns for HM LLP Preparing LLP tax return Preparing and submitting regulatory reports to the FCA including the ICARA Carrying out the annual visits to outsourced providers and producing the compliance report on each (this is a regulatory requirement) Payroll administration Responsibility for all of the accounting and tax requirements of the US company Administer insurance, any other benefits and any office stuff Funds – We outsource operations but require internal checks to be done: Checking the monthly NAV calculations of the funds Being the point contact for the year-end fund accounts Overseeing the fund tax issues including the preparation of reporting income calculations and related HMRC filings Overseeing what is expensed from HMC to the funds and keeping track of fund expense ratios including the changing impact at various AuM levels Overseeing voting and calculating/overseeing research payments This is an exciting time to join the firm with the launch of x2 funds early next year. The firm leaders are clear that this person will be on pathway to CFO in only 3-5 years – looking at candidates with 1-3 years PQE. What’s on offer?
