Assistant Syndicate Accountant opportunity with a leading specialty insurer. This role sits within the Syndicate Finance function of a London-based insurance organisation operating in the specialty market. The position supports senior finance professionals in delivering Lloyd’s and group reporting to meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of core regulatory returns in line with Lloyd’s reporting standards and deadlines
- Assist with ancillary submissions to relevant regulatory bodies
- Oversee the offshore finance operations team, ensuring robust balance sheet controls and accurate bookkeeping
- Review and sign off key reconciliations to audit standards, escalating issues as needed
- Maintain trial balances, including investment and cash asset processes
- Contribute to the maintenance and testing of internal controls for group reporting (e.g., SOX compliance)
- Identify and implement process improvements through feedback and collaboration
- Liaise with external auditors, providing requested data and responses
