The Data Workstream Lead/Manager will play a key role in a major IT transformation programme, championing the data strategy and governance framework to improve data quality and accessibility. They will coordinate data migration efforts, lead data cleanse activities, work closely with data architects, and oversee the migration team. The role also involves driving procedural and system changes to enhance data quality controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive data strategy for the programme
- Maintain an integrated data plan covering the full project lifecycle
- Align data milestones across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Ensure consistency between internal teams and external partners
- Identify and mitigate data-related risks
- Act as the final escalation point for critical data issues
- Provide regular updates to programme leadership
- Ensure visibility of progress, risks, and key achievements
- Adhere to PMO standards for reporting, governance, and risk
- Support regulatory compliance and end-to-end testing
Core Requirements
- 5β7+ years in data management/migration within large, multinational IT programmes
- Led at least three full IT system implementations
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills
- Technical proficiency with IT systems and data architecture
- Expertise in risk mitigation, communication, and workshop facilitation
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable under pressure
Key Accountabilities
Data Migration
- Lead data cleansing and migration activities
- Participate in planning and risk review meetings
Data Governance
- Develop governance frameworks and data accountability models
- Assess data maturity and define robust data rules
Data Quality
- Design and implement data quality rules and audit procedures
- Build infrastructure for data quality reporting
- Perform root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement
Data Harmonization & Reporting
- Improve data reporting and transparency
- Catalogue data sources and refresh schedules
General
- Ensure compliance with company policies and support evolving business needs
Technical Skills & Tools
- Power BI, Microsoft Azure, SQL, ETL, data warehousing, data transformation and mapping
- Python and knowledge of data warehouse design are a plus
Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent
- Experience in the energy sector is advantageous
