We are currently supporting a major infrastructure contractor delivering one of the UK's largest civil engineering projects and are looking to recruit a Junior Engineering Surveyor to join their established site engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious surveying professional looking to further develop their experience within large-scale infrastructure, rail and civil engineering projects.

The Role:

The successful candidate will support the Engineering Surveying team in carrying out site surveys in line with project procedures, health & safety standards and engineering requirements. The role will involve assisting with setting out, control networks, laser scanning, survey data capture and reporting across a live construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with engineering surveying activities across the project
  • Support setting out and as-built survey works
  • Carry out survey control observations and level runs
  • Assist with laser scanning and data capture activities
  • Process and produce survey data for engineering and production teams
  • Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times
  • Support maintenance and checks of survey equipment

Requirements:

  • Experience within Engineering Surveying, Site Surveying or Setting Out
  • Background within civils, infrastructure, rail, highways or major construction projects
  • Familiarity with Leica, Trimble, GPS/GNSS or Total Station equipment
  • Understanding of engineering survey techniques
  • CSCS Card required
  • Engineering Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering qualification desirable

Desirable:

  • Experience with 3D machine control or BIM models
  • Laser scanning exposure
  • Survey data processing software knowledge
  • SSSTS / SMSTS
