We are currently supporting a major infrastructure contractor delivering one of the UK's largest civil engineering projects and are looking to recruit a Junior Engineering Surveyor to join their established site engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious surveying professional looking to further develop their experience within large-scale infrastructure, rail and civil engineering projects.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Engineering Surveying team in carrying out site surveys in line with project procedures, health & safety standards and engineering requirements. The role will involve assisting with setting out, control networks, laser scanning, survey data capture and reporting across a live construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering surveying activities across the project
- Support setting out and as-built survey works
- Carry out survey control observations and level runs
- Assist with laser scanning and data capture activities
- Process and produce survey data for engineering and production teams
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times
- Support maintenance and checks of survey equipment
Requirements:
- Experience within Engineering Surveying, Site Surveying or Setting Out
- Background within civils, infrastructure, rail, highways or major construction projects
- Familiarity with Leica, Trimble, GPS/GNSS or Total Station equipment
- Understanding of engineering survey techniques
- CSCS Card required
- Engineering Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering qualification desirable
Desirable:
- Experience with 3D machine control or BIM models
- Laser scanning exposure
- Survey data processing software knowledge
- SSSTS / SMSTS
