The Role
As Technical Sales Executive, you will manage and develop customer relationships across specialist engineering markets, including offshore geotechnical and horizontal directional drilling. You will work closely with customers, engineers and internal teams to identify opportunities, provide technical support, prepare proposals, and ensure customers receive a high-quality service from enquiry through to delivery. The role will involve office-based collaboration, customer visits, industry events and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new and existing customer relationships across specialist engineering markets
- Support sales activity within offshore geotechnical, including seabed sampling and related applications
- Identify and win new commercial opportunities
- Provide technical input into customer enquiries, proposals and product selection
- Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Build and manage a sales pipeline, including forecasting and reporting
- Represent the business at customer sites, trade shows and industry events
- Support aftersales activity and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
About You
You may already be in technical sales, applications engineering, business development or a customer-facing engineering role. What matters most is that you are technically credible, commercially aware and able to build trust with customers.
You will need:
- Experience in technical sales, applications, engineering sales or a related commercial role
- A background in engineering, industrial products, offshore, geotechnical, drilling, utilities, mining, manufacturing or similar sectors
- Confidence speaking with technical and operational stakeholders
- A consultative, relationship-led sales style
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
- Ability to work from the Chesterfield office 3 days per week
