We are seeking a motivated and fast-learning Electrician’s Mate / Apprentice to support an experienced Electrical Engineer with the installation of energy-reduction and energy-efficiency technologies in commercial environments. Projects are primarily within the hospitality and leisure sectors, offering hands-on exposure to modern electrical installations and sustainable technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Electrical Engineer with on-site electrical installations
- Support the installation of energy-reduction technologies in commercial properties
- Carry out practical tasks including:
- Cutting and preparing cables
- Cable crimping
- Drilling and fixing containment and boxes to walls
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
- Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Maintain tools, materials, and a clean working environment
- Communicate professionally with engineers and clients on site
- Travel to project locations, including occasional overnight stays
Essential Skills & Requirements
- First Aid certification (including CPR/resuscitation)
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in commercial environments
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Practical ability with basic electrical tasks (cutting cables, crimping, drilling, fixing)
- Proactive and reliable work ethic
- Professional, friendly attitude when dealing with customers
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when required
- Physically fit and comfortable working in varied site conditions
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Previous experience as an Electrician’s Mate or Electrical Apprentice
- Exposure to energy-saving or energy-efficiency technologies
- Experience working on commercial sites
