  • Prepare documentation for the application of Budget Estimates and Formal Offers to DNOs (Distribution Network Operators).
  • Carry out high-level budget costs for EHV cable installation and substation construction projects.
  • Assist in preparing technical submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and technical PQQs (Pre-Quote Questionnaires).
  • Support the engineering team with research into technical standards, including ENA Engineering Recommendations and IEC/BS standards relevant to EHV cable systems and substation equipment.
  • Documentation & Correspondence
  • Manage and file engineering correspondence, ensuring traceability and version control across project documentation systems.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and utility representatives to respond to technical information requests.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports, project trackers, and presentation materials for internal and client-facing meetings.
  • Be aware of and understand the requirements of Health, Safety and Sustainability (HSS) relevant to this role.
  • HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
  • Manage documentation with precision – maintain accurate, well-organised project files and correspondence, ensuring traceability and version control across all workstreams.
  • Support the team proactively – anticipate the needs of the Business Development and engineering teams, preparing materials, reports, and cost information ahead of time.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally – liaise confidently with engineers, clients, and subcontractors, representing JSM with professionalism in every interaction.
  • Deliver accurate technical outputs – produce reliable budget estimates, technical submittals, and PQQ responses that reflect JSM’s standards and capabilities.
  • Embrace a learning mindset – develop your knowledge of EHV cable systems, substation infrastructure, and industry standards, growing your expertise in a specialist environment.
  • Operate effectively under pressure – manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without compromising quality, accuracy, or attention to detail.
