Are you an experienced ESG and environmental professional looking to step into a true leadership role within a fast-growing advisory consulting business? My client is an ambitious and rapidly expanding ESG consultancy working at the intersection of finance, infrastructure and sustainability, supporting major development projects across global markets with a particular focus on developing countries.

They are now looking to appoint an ESDD / ESIA Director to lead and grow a critical service line, combining technical leadership, commercial delivery and team development.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, high-impact role where you will:

  • Lead complex ESDD and ESIA projects for investors, lenders and developers
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, including financial institutions
  • Drive the growth and direction of the ESDD/ESIA offering
  • Manage and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team
  • Play a key role in business development, client relationships and strategic planning

You’ll be working on major infrastructure and development projects globally, helping clients navigate environmental and social risk while unlocking investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of ESDD and ESIA projects from strategy through to execution
  • Manage client relationships and act as a senior point of contact
  • Oversee project quality, budgets and risk management
  • Provide technical leadership across environmental and social disciplines
  • Support and lead business development, bids and proposals
  • Develop and mentor a growing team
  • Shape and implement strategic growth plans for the service line

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong experience in ESDD, ESIA or ESG advisory within consultancy or finance
  • Proven ability to work with lenders, developers or infrastructure investors
  • Deep understanding of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles and international ESG frameworks
  • A track record of leading complex projects and managing client relationships
  • Experience in business development and winning work
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
  • International project experience and exposure to emerging markets would be highly advantageous.
