The role As Workshop Supervisor, you will lead and support a team of technicians, ensuring work is carried out safely, to the right quality standards and in line with production requirements. You will be responsible for planning workloads, managing resources and maintaining a structured, organised workshop environment. Your leadership will directly influence productivity, quality and team morale. What you will be doing You will: Lead and motivate a team of technicians to deliver work safely, efficiently and to a high standard Manage production schedules so customer and business requirements are met Monitor labour, materials and equipment to ensure cost-effective workshop operation Ensure full compliance with health and safety, quality and operating procedures Identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of approved changes Maintain a clean, organised and well-structured workshop environment Ensure job activity is accurately recorded on the E10 system on a daily basis Set a strong personal example in professionalism, attitude and standards Support consistent quality output while keeping productivity high Handle day-to-day people matters with fairness, diligence and clear communication What you will bring This role will suit you if you have: Proven experience leading or supervising a workshop or technical team Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Good knowledge of health, safety, quality and compliance requirements Clear written and verbal communication skills Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage people professionally A positive attitude and commitment to high standards What you get in return Salary up to £38,000 depending on experience Monday to Friday working hours, 08:00 to 16:30 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Two weeks paid leave for Reservists to attend annual training or camp Life cover at three times base salary Pension scheme with 3 percent employer contribution, rising to 5 percent after 12 months On-the-job training and ongoing career development Access to wellbeing and employee support services A stable role with long-term opportunity in a respected engineering business About the company A well-established engineering organisation operating in specialist and defence-related markets.
