Plant Technician in Coventry

This is a hands-on workshop role offering long-term stability, structured hours and the opportunity to develop your technical skills in a supportive environment. You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, with no weekend work, alongside an experienced team in a well-equipped workshop. The role As a Workshop Plant Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and supporting a range of plant and mechanical equipment. Your work will help ensure equipment is safe, reliable and available when required. This is a practical, workshop-based role where attention to detail, following procedures and working safely are essential. What you will be doing You will be involved in: Carrying out mechanical maintenance, repair and overhaul work on plant equipment Diagnosing faults and completing repairs in line with specifications and work instructions Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding components where required Completing job documentation accurately and on time Working to quality, health and safety and operational standards Supporting workshop planning and prioritisation of jobs Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment Working collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet deadlines What you will bring This role will suit you if you have: Previous experience in a mechanical, plant, workshop or technician role Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills The ability to follow procedures and technical instructions Strong attention to detail and quality standards Good communication skills A positive, reliable and flexible approach Willingness to learn and develop through on-the-job training What you get in return Salary £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience Monday to Friday working hours, 08:00 to 16:30 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Two weeks paid leave for Reservists to attend annual training or camp Life cover at three times base salary Pension scheme with 3 percent employer contribution, rising to 5 percent after 12 months On-the-job training and career development Access to wellbeing support A stable, supportive working environment with long-term opportunity About the company Our client is a well-established engineering and technical organisation with a strong reputation for quality, safety and reliability.
