We are seeking a Senior Staff Nurse for our Paediatric Intensive Care unit. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, developing holistic care plans, and promoting family-centred care. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members and be accountable for nursing management in a designated area.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse
- Coordinate patient care with the multidisciplinary team
- Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Provide mentorship and support for student nurses
- Develop tailored care plans for patients in the designated clinical area
Requirements and Qualifications
- NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
- Post-graduate experience in a PICU setting
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues
- Teaching and mentoring experience desirable
- Completion of a PICU Course equivalent to 60 credits
- Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
- Experience in supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable
