Are you an experienced Water Treatment Engineer looking for a role offering variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work across some of the UK's most important commercial and industrial sites? We are working with a leading specialist in water treatment and water hygiene, who are looking to appoint a Water Treatment Engineer to cover clients across Leicester and the wider Midlands region. This is a hands-on field-based role covering cooling towers, steam boilers and domestic water systems, with a strong focus on water treatment, monitoring and compliance.
The Role
As a Water Treatment Engineer, you'll visit a range of commercial and industrial sites, carrying out routine water treatment and water hygiene services while ensuring systems remain compliant, safe and operating effectively. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine water treatment services on cooling towers and evaporative cooling systems
- Monitoring and testing steam boiler water systems
- Conducting water quality testing and analysing results
- Taking domestic water hygiene samples from client sites
- Carrying out temperature monitoring and other routine water hygiene checks
- Collecting samples for laboratory analysis
- Dosing and monitoring chemical treatment programmes
- Identifying issues with water systems and recommending appropriate remedial action
- Completing accurate service reports and maintaining site records
- Liaising with customers and site contacts regularly
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation, standards and company procedures
- Travelling to customer sites throughout Leicester, the Midlands and surrounding areas
About You
We are looking for someone with experience within water treatment, water hygiene or a related technical environment. You might already be working as a Water Treatment Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or Service Engineer, or have relevant experience within a commercial or industrial water treatment environment. You'll ideally have:
- Experience working with cooling towers and/or steam boiler systems
- Knowledge of water treatment and chemical dosing
- Experience carrying out water sampling and testing
- An understanding of domestic water hygiene and Legionella control
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Good mechanical and practical ability
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- A full UK driving licence
