Quality & Food Safety Systems Manager
We are seeking a Quality & Food Safety Systems Manager with exceptional energy, proven expertise, and a passion for excellence to take on a pivotal role within our client s fast-paced manufacturing business.

This is a senior position within the Technical team and a key role within the organisation ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to make a real impact. About the Role

As the Quality & Food Safety Systems Manager, you will be responsible for implementing, reviewing, maintaining and continuously improving site-wide Quality and Food Safety Management Systems. You ll ensure compliance with GFSI standards while enhancing systems that support efficient, safe and consistent manufacturing operations.

You must have proven experience working in a sizable food manufacturing business and managing quality relationships with at least three major retailers simultaneously. This role involves direct responsibility for working with seven major UK retailers, so multi-retailer experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and improve site Quality & Food Safety Systems (GFSI: BRC, FSSC 22000, SQF)
  • Act as Food Safety Team Leader (HACCP, TACCP, VACCP)
  • Ensure compliance with ethical certifications (Fairtrade, Organic, Rainforest Alliance)
  • Oversee supplier quality management (TraceGains SRM)
  • Manage internal audits, incident investigations, and customer complaints
  • Maintain audit readiness and full regulatory compliance
  • Drive cross-functional system improvements and innovation

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in a science-related field would be ideal
  • Minimum 3 years experience of managing Quality/Food Safety Systems within a food or beverage manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience managing relationships with multiple major UK retailers simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of food safety legislation and GFSI schemes (BRC, FSSC 22000, etc.)
  • HACCP Level 3 (or higher) and Lead Auditor qualification
  • Data-driven, problem-solving mindset (Green Belt desirable)
  • High-energy, proactive and a confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills
