My client is seeking an experienced Principal ESG Consultant to lead and deliver strategic ESG advisory services across complex, high-profile projects. You will work with senior stakeholders, shape ESG strategies, and drive project delivery across multiple sectors and geographies. This is a senior leadership role combining technical excellence, commercial acumen, and team development, with opportunities to influence both client outcomes and the growth of the ESG practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale ESG projects, managing teams, budgets, and client relationships.
- Deliver market-leading ESG advisory, including reporting, disclosures, management systems, and strategy development.
- Influence senior and executive stakeholders, providing pragmatic, actionable insights.
- Support business growth through client engagement, proposal development, and identification of new opportunities.
- Mentor and develop junior consultants, shaping a high-performing team.
- Stay at the forefront of ESG developments and drive innovation in methodology and delivery.
About You
- 7+ years’ ESG or sustainability experience, ideally with consultancy or in-house exposure.
- Proven track record of leading complex programmes and advising senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, reporting standards, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of international ESG and lender frameworks (e.g. IFC, Equator Principles, World Bank EHS).
- Proven experience managing ESG due diligence and advisory assignments for financial institutions and developers.
- Excellent consulting, commercial, and analytical skills.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams.
