My client is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Sustainability Consultant specialising in energy to take a technical leadership role within their London sustainability team. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced energy specialist who wants to shape best practice, lead complex projects and influence both people and performance across a growing consultancy.
The Role
- Act as the technical lead for energy performance, setting standards, driving consistency and developing the energy services offered to clients.
- Lead the energy workstream within the sustainability team.
- Deliver and oversee energy scopes on large, complex projects for high-profile clients.
- Act as a key client-facing consultant, attending meetings and clearly translating briefs into delivery.
- Manage and prioritise the workload and resourcing of the energy team.
- Support and develop team members through mentoring and line management.
- Delegate, review and assure the quality of work produced by others.
- Collaborate closely with MEP colleagues to develop and embed energy modelling expertise.
- Contribute to research, guidance and industry-facing initiatives to help shape best practice.
About You
You will be a highly capable energy specialist with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to sustainability in the built environment.
- Energy strategies and low carbon design.
- Building Regulations Part L assessments using tools such as Elmhurst and IES.
- NABERS UK modelling.
- In-use energy modelling and performance assessment.
- Dynamic thermal modelling for comfort and overheating analysis.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience within a sustainability consultancy and be ready for a senior technical leadership position.
- A relevant degree and strong technical foundation.
- Chartered status and professional recognition within the industry.
- In-depth knowledge of London planning requirements.
- Confidence leading sustainability and energy workshops with design teams.
- Proven experience as a team leader and line manager.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence multidisciplinary project teams.
- A collaborative, credible and client-focused approach.
