Overview

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Site Support professional to join a pioneering carbon capture and storage project in Cheshire. This 3-year contract is site-based, requiring daily on-site presence, and is suited to candidates within 1 hours commute of the site (North Liverpool).

As Environmental Site Support, you will work closely with and report to the Environmental Manager to ensure the project remains compliant with all relevant environmental regulations and agreed mitigation measures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Environmental Manager in implementing the site inspection and monitoring the onshore programme.
  • Carry out routine on-site environmental checks in line with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) and the Register of Environmental Actions and Commitments (REAC).
  • Support the identification and reporting of any deviations from approved environmental procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up actions are recorded.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to ensure environmental mitigation measures are effectively implemented by contractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of site reports and updates for regulatory bodies such as Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and local authorities under the direction of the Environmental Manager.
  • Liaise with specialist environmental consultants as required for specific tasks under the supervision of the Environmental Manager.

Ideally You Will Have The Following

  • Minimum 4–5 years of environmental monitoring experience on oil & gas or major infrastructure construction sites.
  • Located within commuting distance of the Liverpool area.
  • Strong understanding of site-based environmental controls and compliance monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Relevant degree in Environmental Science, Marine Biology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or membership in a recognised environmental body is desirable.
