Are you an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment professional looking to take the next step in your leadership career?

My client is expanding its Environmental Planning and Assessment capability and is seeking an experienced EIA Team Lead to help shape the future of its London operation.

This is an opportunity to lead a growing multidisciplinary team, work on nationally significant infrastructure and development projects, and play a key role in developing both people and business.

The Role

You'll lead the delivery of complex EIA projects across infrastructure, transport, energy and development sectors while helping to grow and develop an ambitious environmental team.

You'll work closely with planners, engineers, ecologists and technical specialists to deliver high-quality environmental solutions for major UK projects.

This role combines technical excellence, people leadership and commercial responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing EIA team.
  • Manage complex Environmental Impact Assessments from inception through to planning consent.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical specialists.
  • Act as Project Director or Project Manager on major developments.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior and senior consultants.
  • Support business development, bids and framework opportunities.
  • Drive quality, innovation and continuous improvement across the team.

About You

You’ll likely have around 10–15 years’ consultancy experience with a strong track record delivering Environmental Impact Assessments or leading multidisciplinary environmental projects.

  • Environmental Planning
  • Environmental Consenting
  • Infrastructure Planning

You’ll ideally bring

  • Extensive EIA project delivery experience.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and client management experience.
  • Chartered status (or working towards it) with IEMA, CIEEM or another relevant professional institution.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
