My client is a growing environmental and sustainability consultancy that advises lenders, investors and developers on complex environmental and social challenges associated with major international projects.

Working across sectors including infrastructure, energy and development, you’ll support clients in delivering projects that meet international environmental and social standards while creating positive outcomes for both people and nature.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental & Social (E&S) professional to join a collaborative and ambitious team, leading high-profile international projects while helping shape the continued growth of the business.

The Role

As a Senior / Principal Consultant, you’ll lead Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) and wider advisory projects for clients operating across international markets.

You’ll manage projects from inception through to delivery, provide commercially focused technical advice and build trusted relationships with lenders, investors and developers.

Alongside project delivery, you’ll contribute to business development, mentor colleagues and play an active role in expanding this specialist service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of ESIA and ESDD projects across a range of international sectors.
  • Manage project teams, budgets, programmes and client relationships.
  • Provide practical environmental and social risk advice aligned with international lender standards.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, management plans and strategic advice.
  • Support business development, proposal writing and client engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants.

About You

You’ll have significant experience advising clients on environmental and social risk within either consultancy or industry and enjoy working on technically challenging international projects.

You’ll also have

  • A relevant degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography or a related discipline.
  • At least seven years’ experience within environmental and social consultancy or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of international environmental and social standards and lender requirements.
  • Experience leading complex environmental and social projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and experience supporting business development.
  • The ability to build strong client relationships and manage multidisciplinary teams.
