Our client, a professional Law firm based in Witham, is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary / Team Assistant with recent Private Client Law experience to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
The ideal candidate for this role will have strong legal secretarial skills, be highly organised and be a strong team player who is confident in managing busy diaries, digital dictation and a wide range of administration and secretarial duties.
The Legal Secretary / Team Assistant (Private Client) role will include:
- Providing typing and administrative support to one or more lawyers
- Opening files, carrying out ID checks and money laundering checks
- Carrying out all necessary conflict checks, recording results, and notifying the lawyer of any issues arising
- Photocopying, filing, and scanning
- Typing Wills, LPA’s
- Preparing bills and draft narratives
- Telephoning clients and following up client enquiries as directed
- Ensuring all enquiries are passed to the appropriate person
You will need:
- Strong legal secretarial skills & knowledge / experience in Private Client Law.
- Strong spelling, grammar, and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of all MS packages
- Experience of third-party applications e.g. Land Registry, BigHand
- To be self-motivated with a “can do” flexible approach.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced Legal environment.
- To be proactive and take ownership of issues and offer solutions.
- Have excellent organisation skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Be a strong team player who is also able to work on your own initiative.
