Our client, based in Colchester, is one of the leading Law firms in Essex, a Legal 500 recommended practice with 17 Legal 500 recommended Lawyers. Our client is seeking a proactive, highly organised individual to work closely with a senior Solicitor specialising in Medical Negligence. This role requires strong legal and administrative skills to support complex casework, manage client communications, and ensure the smooth progression of the claims. This could be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in law to join a team as a Medical Negligence Support Paralegal.
Duties will include:
- Provide support to a Senior Solicitor who is an expert in medical negligence, ensuring cases are managed effectively.
- Assist with case preparation, legal research, and gathering evidence to support claims.
- Review and summarise medical records and reports to identify key issues.
- Prepare legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence with clients, experts, and opposing parties.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, providing updates and ensuring sensitive matters are handled with professionalism and empathy.
- Coordinate with medical experts, barristers, and other legal professionals to gather opinions and support case development.
- Maintain case files, update the case management system, and ensure compliance with court deadlines and pre-action protocols.
- Assist in preparing trial bundles, briefing notes, and schedules for hearings.
