I’m working with a firm of solicitors based in Chelmsford, who pride themselves on providing a complete service to both business and private clients with a traditional approach. Due to continued growth, they have an opportunity for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join their conveyancing department. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and typing of legal documents and correspondence including bills of costs and completion statements
- Assisting with the management of a busy caseload of residential conveyancing files (freehold and leasehold)
- Able to complete Local Authority, Chancel and other relevant pre-exchange searches
- Preparing contract packs and other legal documentation
- Processing the conveyancing process in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors
- Drafting legal correspondence and supporting documents
- Handling post-completion matters including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
- Providing general administrative support to fee earners
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Assistant in a Residential Property/Conveyancing Team
