Our client, a multi-office law firm, is recruiting for an experienced Residential Solicitor for their Residential Conveyancing team based in Chelmsford. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with 3 years plus PQE to take on a varied caseload of residential property matters.
The successful candidate will be managing their own caseload of approximately 25 – 35 new instructions per month from the outset. They should be self-motivated with a commitment to delivering excellent service. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a strong department and have an active hand in the development and expansion of the team.
The Role
- Generate fee income by taking responsibility for the conduct of conveyancing cases on behalf of clients.
- Assist other members of the firm on subjects of expertise.
- Advise and assist clients on legal matters relating to those areas of expertise in Conveyancing.
- Supervise secretarial and other support staff assigned to carry out support tasks in the Property Department.
- Handle sales and purchases of leasehold, freehold, transfer of equity, remortgages, and new build property matters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and with other professional contacts.
- Keep abreast of developments in the law in related subjects as necessary, taking responsibility for self-development and ensuring CPD is observed.
- Co-operate with other team members and other members of the firm and the legal community as a whole to further the maintenance of high quality professional service for clients and the community.
- Ensure firm’s procedures are followed when recording time and managing the billing process.
The Candidate
- A minimum of 3 years plus experience in a Residential Property environment.
- Our client will consider Solicitors, Licensed Conveyancers or Legal Executives.
- You will possess the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Must be able to impart key information in a manner which is easily understood.
- Self-motivated, organised with the ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
- Proactive thinker with a willingness to be involved in marketing and business development.

Hours
Monday to Thursday 9am - 6.00pm, Friday 9am - 5.30pm, although there is some flexibility with hours office based.
