JRS Associates have partnered with a leading engineering company in Sutton-in-Ashfield to recruit a skilled Workshop Engineer. This exciting opportunity involves working within a high-performing team to maintain, repair, and overhaul a wide range of supported products, including engines, transmissions, and axles. If you have a passion for hands-on mechanical work and high-quality service, this is the role for you!

The Package:

  • Salary: £32,445 per annum
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm

  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside experienced engineers and mentor apprentices

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform the safe disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of components, including engines, transmissions, axles, and transfer cases
  • Ensure testing and evaluation of completed units to guarantee reliability and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship adhering to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 regulations
  • Participate in training new engineers and apprentices, promoting high standards of work and good practice
  • Collaborate with the Parts team to ensure accurate part identification and ordering
  • Achieve KPIs related to repair times, technical data collection, and operational targets
  • Provide suggestions to improve operational efficiency and maintain excellent time management

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical and engineering environment
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, particularly with large diesel engines and transmissions
  • Proficiency with tooling and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid driving license
