JRS Associates have partnered up with an exciting precision engineering manufacturer in Welwyn Garden City to recruit a Trainee Sales Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a relevant engineering qualification who is looking to build a long-term career within technical sales and precision manufacturing. The role offers full training and the chance to work closely with customers, engineering teams, and production departments within a highly specialised engineering environment.
Package:
- £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

Role Duties:
- Support the sales and quotations team with incoming customer enquiries
- Assist with preparing quotations from engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Liaise with production and engineering departments regarding manufacturing feasibility and lead times
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings including tolerances and dimensions
- Support customer communication throughout the enquiry and quotation process
- Maintain CRM systems and quotation records accurately
- Assist with Excel-based pricing, reporting and sales analysis
- Support technical discussions regarding materials, manufacturing methods and project requirements
- Develop knowledge of CNC machining and precision engineering processes
Requirements:
- Relevant engineering qualification is essential
- Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing and technical sales
- Ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel
- Organised and detail-oriented approach
- Eager to learn and develop within a technical commercial environment
- Positive and professional attitude
