JRS Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Production Planner to join their production team in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised Production Planner with experience using ERP/MRP systems to play a key role in production scheduling, customer communication and ensuring on-time delivery performance across a busy manufacturing environment.

Role:
- Produce and maintain daily and weekly production schedules
- Ensure production plans meet customer demand and on-time delivery targets
- Process daily production time bookings and maintain accurate production data
- Monitor raw material availability and production capacity
- Liaise with production teams to resolve scheduling issues and minimise downtime
- Provide customers with regular updates on live production orders
- Coordinate transport plans and respond to schedule changes
- Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure timely deliveries
- Review production documentation before release
- Collect and maintain Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation for VAT compliance
- Scan and file production paperwork for audit purposes
- Raise purchase orders when required
- Monitor inventory levels and production capacity using ERP/MRP systems
- Support quality standards while responding to changing production demands
- Develop contingency plans to minimise the impact of supply chain or equipment disruptions
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Production Planner within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong experience using ERP and/or MRP systems
- Excellent production scheduling and planning experience
- Understanding of inventory management and production capacity planning
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments
- Experience raising purchase orders and managing production documentation
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
