JRS Associates have partnered with a leading precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manual Turner to join their established machining team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a stable engineering environment, manufacturing high-quality precision components while benefiting from excellent working hours, overtime opportunities and long-term job security.
Package:
- £17.50 per hour
- Monday–Thursday: 7.30am – 4.40pm & Friday: 8.00am – 12.00pm
- Overtime paid at time and a half / double time
- Permanent position
- Day shift
- Long-term job security within an established engineering business
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Manual Turner / Conventional Turner
- Confident setting and operating manual centre lathes
- Able to manufacture precision components directly from engineering drawings
- Experienced working to tight engineering tolerances
- Strong knowledge of manual turning techniques
- Competent carrying out facing, parallel turning, taper turning, boring, drilling, threading and parting-off
- Able to select appropriate tooling, speeds and feeds
- Confident using Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Gauges and other precision measuring equipment
- Experience machining steels, stainless steels and engineering alloys
- Experience using Colchester, DSG, Webster & Bennett, L&L, Herbert or similar manual lathes would be advantageous
- Good attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
