JRS Associates Ltd has partnered with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer to recruit a Manufacturing Planner. This opportunity would particularly suit an experienced CNC Miller, CNC Programmer or CAD/CAM Programmer who is looking to take the next step in their career and move away from day-to-day machine operation into a technical, office-based engineering position. Previous Manufacturing Planner experience is not essential. The successful candidate can be trained in the planning elements of the position; however, they must have a strong understanding of CNC machining and genuine CNC programming experience, ideally including offline CAD/CAM programming.

The role will allow you to use the machining knowledge you've developed on the shop floor to determine how precision components should be manufactured and support their progression through production.

The Successful Manufacturing Planner – Package

  • £34,000 per annum
  • 37.5-hour working week
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 1:30pm

The Successful Manufacturing Planner – Role

  • Review engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing methods for precision-machined components
  • Develop manufacturing processes and machining sequences
  • Create and maintain manufacturing routes
  • Support the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Raise and manage Works Orders
  • Use your CNC machining knowledge to identify appropriate operations, tooling and manufacturing methods
  • Work closely with CNC machinists, engineering, production and purchasing
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing and technical documentation
  • Support production planning and scheduling
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing methods, cycle times and production efficiency
  • Maintain accurate engineering information within the company's ERP/MRP system

Previous Planning Experience? Not required. We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced CNC Programmers who have spent their career determining how components should be manufactured and are now interested in using that knowledge away from the machines.
