JRS Associates have partnered up with an exciting engineering business in Liverpool to recruit an experienced Manual Turner for their Precision Pump Shaft Cell. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled centre lathe machinist to join a well-established manufacturer producing high-precision pump shafts for critical industries. The successful candidate will be working from detailed engineering drawings, roughing and finish turning pump shafts up to 4.0 metres in length, machining a variety of steels, stainless steels, and exotic alloys from raw bar stock and forgings. The Successful Manual Turner – Package: * £17.26 – £18.45 per hour (Approx. £35,000 – £37,500 per annum) * Potential earnings with overtime: £45,000 – £48,000 * 39 hours per week + overtime (subject to availability) * Single Day Shift: * Mon – Thurs: 7:30am – 4:30pm * Fri: 7:30am – 12:30pm * 25 days holiday at average pay + 8 bank holidays * Company bonus scheme* * Contributory pension scheme * Training & development opportunities * Corporate workwear provided * Flexible working options (role dependent) The Successful Manual Turner – Requirements: Essential: * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering / Machining * Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Manual Turning role * Proven experience using steadies and grinding precision pump shafts up to 4.0m * Ability to work accurately from detailed engineering drawings * Experience machining exotic metals including: * Super Duplex, Duplex, Inconel 718, X750, Hastelloy, Monel * Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems * Strong planning and organisational skills * Excellent attention to detail * Effective communication skills with peers and management Preferred (but not essential): * Finish turning multi-stage pump shafts * Experience within a subcontract precision machine shop * Machining of valve and pump components * Experience supplying Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Fluid, or Power Generation sectors * Proficient with Office 365 and ERP systems Apply now!
