JRS Associates have partnered up with an exciting precision engineering company to recruit CNC Sliding Head Turners at both Setter/Operator and Programmer level. This is a stable, well-established manufacturer investing in people, tooling, and long-term growth, offering excellent pay depending on experience.
The Successful CNC Sliding Head Turner – Package:
- Setter / Operator (Sliding Head)
- Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 per annum
- Days: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Salary: £45,000 – £48,000 per annum
- Days: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Both roles include:

The Successful CNC Sliding Head Turner – Requirements:
- Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes
- Editing offsets, tooling, and programs at the machine
- Programming from scratch for the senior role
- Working to tight tolerances on precision components
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection
- Working with Fanuc and/or Mitsubishi controls
- Maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping
About You:
- Proven experience on CNC sliding head / Swiss-type lathes
- Background as a Setter/Operator or Setter/Operator/Programmer
- Confident working independently on complex components
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset
- Comfortable in a subcontract precision engineering environment
