JR PAT Testing is rapidly expanding across the UK and is looking for self‑employed PAT Engineers to work from Warrington and surrounding commutable areas. Positions offer flexible hours and a pro‑rated earning structure based on the number of tests performed and project length.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct portable appliance testing (PAT) on a variety of equipment (microwaves, kettles, computers, etc.) at hospitals, retail outlets and other commercial sites.
  • Use appropriate test instruments to verify the safety of electrical appliances and determine if they require repair or replacement.
  • Record test results in a dedicated PAT test report or electronic system, and provide employers with completion certificates and checklists.
  • Communicate findings to users, explaining risks and recommendations for unfit appliances.
  • Travel to multiple locations daily, carrying all necessary tools, record books and testing equipment in a van.
  • Maintain all equipment in good working order, keeping it calibrated annually and compliant with relevant regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated competence in PAT testing and a reliable, honest, “can‑do” attitude.
  • Own transport and ability to travel within the Warrington area or greater commutable distance.
  • Self‑employed with valid insurance and instrument calibration records.
