Company Overview

JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK. We are looking for experienced PAT Engineers who are self‑employed and have the necessary equipment and insurance. All engineers should have their equipment calibrated at least once a year, possess their own insurance, and maintain the required City & Guilds 2377 qualification or an equivalent.

Job Details

  • Employment type: self‑employed, flexible hours, part‑time or full‑time.
  • Location: Wadebridge and commutable areas; the role is national, so travel is acceptable provided a reasonable commuting distance to Wadebridge is available.
  • Compensation is discussed per job and on a pro‑rata basis.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to client sites (hospitals, retail outlets, offices, etc.) to perform portable appliance testing (PAT).
  • Test appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and other electrical equipment to ensure safety.
  • Record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or electronic system.
  • Provide completion certificates, checklists and brief users on the results and any required actions.
  • Maintain and keep all testing instruments, measuring devices and related tools in good working order, calibrated annually.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certified City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Self‑employed status and own valid automobile for travel.
  • Reliability, honesty, and a can‑do attitude.
  • Ability to produce accurate, timely reports and manage own schedule.
