JR PAT Testing is an expanding PAT and compliance company based in Cheshire looking for experienced PAT Engineers to work as self‑employed contractors. All engineers must provide their own insurance and have their testing equipment calibrated at least once a year.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to a variety of sites, including hospitals, retail outlets and offices, to conduct electrical appliance testing
  • Use specialised test equipment to assess safety of appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers
  • Inform users of results and advise on replacement or repair where necessary
  • Record findings in a dedicated test report book or electronic system and provide employers with copies
  • Complete any additional paperwork, including completion certificates and checklists
  • Maintain and update all testing instruments, measuring devices and additional tools to meet relevant regulations
