JR PAT Testing is growing rapidly across the UK. We are looking for experienced PAT Engineers to join our team in Stoke‑On‑Trent and commutable areas. Positions are self‑employed with flexible hours, allowing part‑time or full‑time work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct portable appliance testing (PAT) on a wide range of equipment, such as microwaves, kettles, computers and other household appliances.
  • Record test results in a PAT test report book or electronic system, and provide completion certificates and checklists to employers.
  • Inform users of results, explain why certain appliances may be unfit for use, and recommend repair or replacement where necessary.
  • Maintain all testing instruments, tools and equipment, ensuring they are calibrated at least once a year and meet relevant regulations.
  • Travel to client sites, manage time efficiently between multiple appointments, and keep clients informed of progress.

Qualifications

  • Holder of a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven competence in line with the City & Guilds assessment.
  • Ownership of own tools and means of transport to job sites.
  • Reliable, honest, organised and with a “can‑do” attitude.
